To the Women Like Me book series. Being invited to share her poems and stories alongside so many talented women has been both an honor and a privilege.

These collaborative projects helped reigniteBrenda’s passion for writing and gave her the confidence to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. She will always be thankful for the friendships, encouragement, and opportunities that continue to grow from being part of this inspiring community.

Today, Brenda is an author, poet, and self-publisher through Dixey Publishing and Creative Quill and Design. Her work spans stories and poetry exploring strength, hope, and resilience, while her creative repertoire also includes dark verse, folklore-inspired collections, children's books, and creative coloring books.

Beyond Brenda’s own publications, she enjoys designing logos and book covers and helping others bring their creative visions to life.

Drawing inspiration from rural life in British Columbia, folklore, nature, and imagination, Brenda creates books that invite readers into worlds both whimsical and haunting.

In 2026, she is releasing a four-book dark nursery rhyme series beginning with Red Milk and Honey and Black Thread and Bone, with two additional volumes to follow. This collection reimagines familiar childhood rhymes through a darker lens, blending gothic storytelling, horror verse, and Victorian-inspired artwork.

As Brenda Cooper, now writing under the pen name BD Cooper, she remains grateful to the Women Like Me community for helping her rediscover her voice as a writer and for providing a place where stories, creativity, and connection can flourish.

Brenda is proud to continue sharing her work alongside so many inspiring women and looks forward to the stories still to come.
