The author-copy advantage
Once your paperback is published through Amazon KDP, you can order author copies at the book’s printing cost, plus shipping and applicable taxes. That can make a physical book a surprisingly practical way to share your work.
Here are two examples from my own books:
A 90-page, 8 × 10-inch workbook cost me approximately $3.60 CAD per copy to print.
A 60-page, 5 × 8-inch mini book cost me approximately $2.99 CAD per copy to print.
Picture having your own book to sell, give to a potential client, include in a welcome package, or hand out at an event. A professional introduction people can actually take home? That’s a smart use of a book.
(These are my personal examples in Canadian dollars, not guaranteed prices. KDP printing costs vary by page count, trim size, interior ink and paper choices, and marketplace. Shipping and applicable taxes are extra. We can estimate printing costs before publication; the final author-copy order total is confirmed at checkout. A 90-page workbook would require a separate quote because this package covers up to 60 finished pages.)
